Cat Leavitt

Chapter Director                 

Cat has been involved in theatre since her own high school experience, where she dabbled in makeup crew but found her love of acting and eventually directing.  She attended Ashland University as a Theatre and Art double major for one year and continued her studies at the University of Southern Maine. While her focus went towards visual art, her love for theatre remained. She received her BFA in Art with a concentration in Art Education and a minor in Theatre from USM. She now holds a Masters of Art Education from the Art of Education University.  Cat has been teaching Art and Theatre at Massabesic High School since 2014 and would have it no other way! She took on the role of Chapter Director of Maine Thespians in 2023 and hopes to continue to grow the Chapter and help bring more theatre opportunities to all Maine students! 

Elsie Wehrman

Elsie Wehrman has been involved with theatre since 5th grade, and in high school she served as president of Troupe 2056 during her junior and senior years. She is excited to begin working with the Maine Thespians Board because theatre has been such an important and impactful part of her journey, and she hopes students across Maine will have those same meaningful experiences.
